On Forgiveness

I did my best with what I knew at the time
I'm lacking when it comes to theory of mind
If nothing else I'm learning to grow a spine
You me and anger we're just three of a kind

To tell you the truth I'm not much of a liar
We're burning bridges and my god what a fire
Blazing inferno you can't help but admire
Tensions are rising as the smoke rises higher

It would be easier to choose to succumb
But dark temptations have gotten tiresome
Feeling over and done with feeling so numb
Not sure where this optimism's coming from

Though rapidly I can get carried away
I give myself permission to be okay
The past has passed it has a natural decay
Now what's important is what happens today
